Doug Hanzel leads Dixie Senior
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (Dec. 13, 2013) -- U.S. Senior Amateur champion Doug Hanzel shot a first-round 2-under 70 and leads all players at the 2013 Dixie Senior Amateur.
Hanzel leads a loaded field by just one shot entering the weekend.
Jon Tingley, Robbie Dew, Rick Woulfe and Jack Hall are all sitting in a second-place tie after first-round 71s. Tingley won the Yeamans Hall and MET (NY) Senior titles this year while Hall claimed top spots at the Georgia Senior and Oglethorpe invitationals.
Defending champion Brady Exber is three shots back after opening with a 1-over 73.
In the Super Senior division, Bill Doerce leads by two with a first-round 2-under 70. Steve Rose and Jim de Leon are tied for second with even par 72 on their opening scorecards.

Championship added a Mid-Master division
starting in 2019. 54-hole
stroke play event with no cut. Mid-Master (ages 40-
54), Senior (ages 55-64)
and Super Senior

Hanzel (2013-2014, 2017); Brady Exber (2012); and
Rick
Woulfe (an amazing 7 titles, his latest in 2015) are
among the past
champions. All three rounds are
