Palm Beach Mid-Am Match Play: Eggertsson wins it
PALM BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2013) -- Daniel Eggertsson defeated Davidde Giordano 2 & 1 on the Cypress Course at Palm Beach Polo to win the 28th annual Tire Kingdom Mid-Amateur Match Play Championship.
Eggertsson made a great par save on the 17th hole after hitting a 60 yard greenside bunker shot to 6 feet. Giordano had a birdie chance to extent the match but missed his putt.
Both Eggertsson and Giordano scored impressive semifinal victories Sunday morning. Eggertsson beat current points leader RJ Nakashian 1up and Giordano beat 2011 Champion Frank Babusik 3 & 2.
In the 1st Flight Jeff Helfrich beat Chuck Schmiedel 1up for the title and John Siena defeated Joseph Amdrosini, Jr. 2up to win the 2nd Flight.

ABOUT THE
Palm Beach Match Play
Match play tournament for mid-amateurs and
seniors.
The field will be divided into a Mid-Am Division (25-
49)
and a Senior Division (50 & older). All players are
guaranteed an 18-hole-seeding-round and at least
one
round of match play. After the seeding round, the
field
will be divided into a Mid-Am Championship Flight, a
Senior Championship Flight and additional flights
based
on field size.
