Berkmeyer leads Missouri Stroke Play

BALLWIN, Mo. (July 15, 2013) -- Skip Berkmeyer fired a 4-under 68 to take the first-round lead at the 2013 Missouri Stroke Play Championship.
Berkmeyer, a longtime force on the national amateur and mid-amateur levels, ropped in four birdies and an eagle-2 on the 311-yard par-4 14th to jump out to the early advantage at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club.
Brevin Giebler shot 3-under and is alone in second place.
Tied for third place are Kent Phillips and Nick Langley at 2-under.
