Inside Vandy
PITTSFORD, NY (June 14, 2013) -- Vanderbilt's Hunter Stewart fired a 2-under 68 Friday to take a one-shot lead into Saturday's final round.
Stewart shot 1-under 69 in the first round on Wednesday and trailed first-round leader Corey Conners by three shots.
Stewart's 68 was good enough to best surges from Motin Yeung of Duke and Rochester's Nick Palladino, who shot 69 and 68, respectively to climb the leaderboard.
Yeung is alone in second place at 2-under while Florida State's Jack Maguire (68-71) and Lamar's Stephane Dubois (69-70) sit in a tie for third at 1-under.
Conners, of Kent State, struggled with a 4-over 74 in the second round and sits tied for fifth place.
Garrett Rank, the runner-up at the 2012 U.S. Mid-Amateur, is tied for 14th at 2-over.
The third and final round wraps up from Monroe Golf Club Saturday after rain washed away the second round on Thursday.
