With four new features, the X2 Hot takes Callaway's X Hot line a step further

Callaway’s goal with the new X2 Hot driver was to offer more distance, control, and forgiveness than the previous X Hot driver. The X2 Hot offers four new performance enhancing features: New Hyper Speed Face, Improved Head Shape and Construction, New Advanced Adjustable Hosel, and New Tour Aldila Shaft.

FIRST REACTION

I’ve recently been in the market for a new driver, but the the X2 Hot hadn't yet come into consideration. After hitting a few balls with it, however, I started to reconsider my options. The traditional matte grey finish, black face and performance really helps the X2 Hot stand out amongst the competition.

SPECS & APPEARANCE

The X2 Hot driver is offered in three lofts: 9, 10.5, 13.5 (HT).

The Speed Frame face focuses on performance, delivering everything from forgiveness to increased ball speeds. In addition, the new head construction has increased playability, and MOI to create an even friendlier driver.

Aldila has also partnered with Callaway to provide a premium shaft to optimize performance. The Aldila Tour Blue shaft is stocked at 46-inches, 58 grams, mid-torque, and mid-to-low kick-point to optimize performance and feedback.

The X2 Hot driver really delivers the “POP” that Callaway boasts about. Compared to the competition I received an average gain of seven yards. Unlike most drivers with stock shafts that aren't necessarily geared towards performance, the Aldila Tour Blue offered in the X2 Hot is a great high- performance shaft that delivers a mid-to-high ball flight without the typical tip of most stock shafts that offer a high launch.

ADJUSTABILITY

Although this driver may not offer the most adjustability on the market, the X2 Hot really offers all a golfer needs.

The new eight-way hosel and new Speed Frame face is a deadly combination that will be sure to added yards to your drives.

With adjustability being so important when looking for the perfect driver, the X2 Hot has introduced an all new eight-way adjustable hosel . With two easy steps, you can find the perfect configuration for your swing. Change lofts in one-degree increments.

After a 30-minute session at the range, I found the perfect lie and loft adjustment and picked up seven yards with a simple click of a wrench.

TAKEAWAYS

The Callaway X2 Hot driver delivers the forgiveness and workability that every golfer wants. The addition of the high-performance shaft and focus on enhanced ball speeds and launch conditions, makes the X2 Hot a solid choice for a range of handicappers.

PRICING & AVAILABILITY

The X2 Hot is available now and retails at $329. Callaway also released an X2 Hot Pro Version with a more compact head size, which also retails at $329.
