River Ridge was designed by Jay Riviere and opened for play in late 1998. The course is laid out through old-growth pecan and oak trees which give the course a mature look and feel. River Ridge's undulating terrain and elevation changes are unusual for the region, with a sixty-foot drop in elevation from the clubhouse on the primordial river ridge to the bank of the Brazos River. River Ridge is a 27-hole facility, with the River, the Parkland, and the Highlands nines played in different combinations.
