At amateurgolf.com, tournaments are our business. The primary mission of the company is to provide information about thousands of amateur tournaments across the globe, but we run a pretty good event ourselves. Some of the things you can expect from any of the events in the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series are quality courses, a competitive field, web-based administration, and a team who is dedicated to "getting it right." Following is some basic information
about the Tournament Series:
Tournament entries are accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis.
An amateurgolf.com membership is not required to enter, however since we always provide a discount for our members (especially when registering early) it makes sense to join and take advantage of all that amateurgolf.com has to offer. Both the member and non-member price are listed in the registration section of each tournament's information page on this website.
Tournaments are open to men and women; the minimum age for the Senior Scratch division is 50 as of the first day of the tournament. Players should be at least 16 years of age to enter; younger players will be allowed pending amateurgolf.com approval and based on their golfing experience. If there are enough women in a tournament a separate women's division will be scored, otherwise women can player either the Net Division, or the Championship Division from the same tees as the men. Our goal is to have at least 12 women in each tournament!
The maximum individual handicap
index of 18.0 is meant as a guideline
for entry, not a hard-and-fast limit.
Players who are concerned about handicap
fluctuations can enter the tournament
without worry, but a maximum index
of 18.0 will be utilized in computing
their net score. NOTE: Players who have a handicap of less than 5.5 (but no less than 2.0) who prefer to play in the Net Division may choose to do so by selecting "Net Division" when they register.
An official USGA handicap index
is required for entry, and Northern
Californians may obtain a handicap
by joining the amateurgolf.com NCGA
Associate Club. (login at http://www.amateurgolf.com/login.asp to setup your account by selecting "Associate Club" under membership type -- existing members who wish to upgrade should call 760-929-9297)
