Overview

At amateurgolf.com, tournaments are our business. The primary mission of the company is to provide information about thousands of amateur tournaments across the globe, but we run a pretty good event ourselves. Some of the things you can expect from any of the events in the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series are quality courses, a competitive field, web-based administration, and a team who is dedicated to "getting it right." Following is some basic information about the Tournament Series:

The amateurgolf.com Tournament Series is open to all players, however members of our website are provided with substantial discounts for each tournament and advance notice of early savings offers. For many events the single year membership fee of $45 is almost paid for with the member savings - in all cases players who compete in 2 or more events will be wise to join the site, and obtain the other membership benefits that go along with it such as 16 complimentary issues of Golfweek Magazine, full access to our tournament website, with thousands of tournament listings, rankings, and much more. Please note that non-member registrations are only accepted via fax, not on the phone or online. Each tournament lists prices under the "registration" tab, and next to the non-member fee you may download a pdf registration form.

Tournaments are open to men and women; the minimum age for the Senior Scratch division is 50 as of the first day of the tournament. Players should be at least 16 years of age to enter; younger players will be allowed pending amateurgolf.com approval and based on their golfing experience. If there are enough women in a tournament a separate women's division will be scored, otherwise women can player either the Net Division, or the Championship Division from the same tees as the men. Our goal is to have at least 12 women in each tournament!

The maximum individual handicap index of 18.0 is meant as a guideline for entry, not a hard-and-fast limit. Players who are concerned about handicap fluctuations can enter the tournament without worry, but a maximum index of 18.0 will be utilized in computing their net score. NOTE: Players who have a handicap of less than 5.5 (but no less than 2.0) who prefer to play in the Net Division may choose to do so by selecting "Net Division" when they register.

An official USGA handicap index is required for entry, and Northern Californians may obtain a handicap by joining the amateurgolf.com NCGA Associate Club.
