One of the host courses of the amateurgolf.com Two Man Links Championship. Bandon Dunes quickly jumped to the top of everyone's 'must play' lists when it opened in the late 90's. It is truly among the finest links courses in the world and we are extremely fortunate to host our flagship event at Bandon Dunes and it's sister course, Pacific Dunes.
 

Black Horse GC, after a 1998 redesign, by PGA Tour architect Chris Gray, is as formidable as its sister course Bayonet. Site of the amateurgolf.com Monterey Bay Championship.
 

Current site of the amateurgolf.com Silicon Valley Amateur. This wonderful 36 hole facility (The Valley and Tournament Courses) is the former site of the PGA Champions Tour Silicon Valley Classic. Excellent range, drainage, course conditions, and variety of holes and settings. Jack Nicklaus designed the Tournament Course.
 

This fantastic golf course is site of our most historic events - The amateurgolf.com Christmas Classic, founded over 20 years ago by 2-time California Amateur Champion Casey Boyns. As part of the Pebble Beach family, Del Monte has some very famous sibblings. Small greens, mature trees, and excellent par threes make this course play much tougher than it looks on the card. And it's always in great shape.
 

Arnold Palmer signature course that has hosted the LPGA Tour, and various NCGA and USGA qualfiying events. Golf Digest gives Hiddenbrooke 4 out of 5 stars; it's one of the few courses in the Bay Area to achieve that ranking. Kemper Sports, known for top notch playing conditions and customer service, took over the management of Hiddenbrooke in 2006.
 

Designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1991 before the Ryder Cup Matches, The Ocean Course gained instant notoriety as the of the most dramatic "War by the Shore," a battle decided literally by the final putt of Sunday's final match. After hosting many other prestigious events between 1991 and the present, The Ocean Course will once again take center stage of the golfing world when it hosts the 2012 PGA Championship. This will mark the first time one of golf's majors is contested in South Carolina.
 

Site of the amateurgolf.com Metropolitan Amateur, an event that was founded in 2003 and which has taken an important roll in showcasing this fantastic municipal golf facility located near the Oakland Airport.

As would a classic links, Metropolitan has a spacious and open feel, with a canopy of sky and long views to the Oakland Hills, the Bay, downtown Oakland, and San Francisco bracketing the horizon. Light winds off the Bay will often be a factor in the strategy and shot selection of the savvy player.
 

Site of the amateurgolf.com Monterey County Two Man, Pacific Grove Golf Links is affectionately referred to as "The Poor Man's Pebble Beach." The links-style layout offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Lovers Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond, and Asilomar's natural sand dunes. Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nine holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style. The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, original designer of the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
 

Host course of the Parks Foundation of Monterey County Classic. This Jack Nicklaus Signature course, located just off the scenic Salinas Highway, provides a variety of shot values and jaw-dropping scenery as it winds its way up the foothill terrain. At the top of it all sits one of the most challenging and scenic par-3's anywhere, pictured here.
 

Celebrating 100 years of championship golf, the legacy of Pinehurst No. 2 continues.

It is a challenge not because of its length, topography, unruly routing, water features or green size - but because of the combination of factors that have made thousands laugh and cry at the same time. Crowned greens. Carefully placed bunkers. Strategic layout that tests both the long and short game. It is golf the way it was meant to be played, "the fairest test of championship golf" ever designed by Ross, in his own words. It is also top 10 in the country, and site of more championships than any other course in the country, including the historic North & South Amateur, the 2005 U.S. Open Championship, and the 2008 U.S. Amateur. The U.S. Open will return in 2014.

amateurgolf.com kicks off the first Pinehurst Invitational in November of 2008 and we plan on visiting every year!

Site of one round of the Livermore Valley Amateur - Poppy Ridge was the second course to be owned and operated by the Northern California Golf Association (first is Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach). Poppy Ridge has three nines with namesakes that fit the Livermore Valley Wine Country setting; Chardonnay, Merlot, and Zinfandel. Only one major tree on the property, but challenging layouts and shot values on all three nines make Poppy Ridge no pushover. Watch scores go up if the wind blows!
 

New site of the Monterey Peninsula Four Ball, which will be held over the July 4th weekend. San Juan Oaks has hosted several NCGA and USGA qualifiers; it was also the site of Stage I of PGA Tour qualifying in the Fall of 2004.
 

Sequoyah Country Club's par 70 layout is as difficult to master as it is verdant and beautiful, with hilly terrain and small, sloping greens. With no parallel fairways and no two holes alike, Sequoyah never seems to play the same way twice. The course is a par 70 for men and par 72 for women, with one of the highest slope/yardage ratios of any layout in California. Rolling hills, sloping fairways and lightning fast greens are some of the reasons that the Sequoyah’s length belies its difficulty. The Oakland Tribune said, "The strange feeling hits you almost immediately when you step to the first tee at Sequoyah Country Club. Is this Oakland? Well, it is the Oakland hills, but at Sequoyah it's easy to drift away to another place and another time . . . But if your putter goes wacky, Sequoyah will chew you up and spit you out. Then, and only then, would you feel you're in Oakland."
 

Site of the amateurgolf.com Diablo Valley Amateur, Shadow Lakes Golf Club is a Par 71, Gary Roger Baird-designed daily fee facility managed by Troon Golf. Troon Golf is known for their meticulous agronomic conditions -- the bent grass tees and greens at Shadow Lakes, for example, are hand-mown everyday.
 

Site of the amateurgolf.com California Mid Amateur, a 100 NCGA Point event where the winner gets an examption into the Stocker Cup and the Top 5 get exemptions into the Trans Miss Amateur! Tournament players love Stevinson Ranch's PGA Tour-quality greens, and overall conditioning which matches even the best private clubs. The layout is tough but fair, and be wary of the finishing holes (15-18) which make 'closing the deal' no easy task! Founder George Kelley has won the Claremont CC (Oakland) Club Championship 6 times and played on the Australasian Tour before becoming reinstated as an amateur.
 

Site of the amateurgolf.com Wine Country Cup, played each February. StoneTree is always in excellent condition and handles winter rains particularly well. The course challenges all aspects of the game - a score of even par will likely put you on top of the leaderboard.
 

A Wade Cable - Landmark/Johnny Pott design, The Golf Club of California was created to raise San Diego golf to new heights while providing an extraordinary private Southern California golf experience exclusively for members and their guests. The course was designed to naturally integrate with ancient oaks, majestic sycamores, towering eucalyptus trees and beautiful red-top grasses that line the manicured fairways and undulating greens. Stunning white sand bunkers and colorful wildflowers add beautiful contrast to the course, while a variety of elevation changes provide tranquil backcountry views. Meandering creeks and acres of natural open space enhance the experience, as well as the game, on The Golf Club of California's challenging design.
 

Host site of the amateurgolf.com Bay Regional Championship, one of the oldest golf tourmaments in the San Francisco Bay Area. amateurgolf.com began operating the event starting with the 2006 season. The course was designed by William Bell Jr. and completed in 1938. Ivan Holmes holds the course record at 7-under-par 63.
