San Francisco Senior: Former winners advance
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2013) -- The first round of match play is complete at the 2013 San Francisco City Senior Championship.
Defending champion and No. 1 seed Jim Williams was a 1-up winner over Jim Duncan and he'll face Michael Parnow, who prevailed 3-and-2 over Rick Dollarhide in the Round of 32.
Herb Jensen, the No. 4 seed and 2010 event champion, knocked off David Schroeder, 4-and-3.
Gary Vainer, who won in 2009 and earned the bracket's No. 2 seed thanks to a qualifying-round 71, defeated Tom Scarlett, 1-up.
Another former champ, Jim Knoll, who won the event in 2008, fell in 20 holes to Mike Wiechers.
Match play will resume Wednesday with Round of 16 matches kicking off three straight days of matches ahead of the March 10 finale at Hardine Park Golf Course.

ENTRY
FEE INCLUDES ALL GREEN FEES.
Open
to
the first 72 entries received. Participants must
have
an
index of 9.4 or lower on 12/01/16 and must have
an
age of 55 or older as of March 7, 2017.
Qualifying
will
consist of one 18-hole stroke play round. Along
with
the defending champion, who will hold the
number
two
seed, the low 31 scores will advance to the Men's
Senior Championship Flight. Individual scores will
determine seeding for match play.
Contestants
who don’t qualify will be refunded $125.
No-
shows
will not be entitled to a refund. All rounds will be
played at TPC Harding Park Golf Course. Those
contestants who post the 32nd and 33rd low
scores
will
be deemed alternate #1 and #2, respectively.
