Four roll to semifinals at USGA Senior

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. (Oct. 3, 2012) -- Jim Knoll defeated the defending USGA Senior Champion Louis Lee, 2-up, in Wednesday morning's quarterfinals and advanced to the afternoon's semifinal match.

Knoll, of Sunnyvale, Calif., will face Paul Simson in the semifinals.

In the other semifinal match, Doug Hanzel will face Curtis Skinner.

Hanzel defeated Pat O'Donnell 3-and-1, in the quarterfinals while Skinner survived Steve Golliher 2-and-1.

ABOUT THE U.S. Senior Amateur

The USGA Senior Amateur is open to those with a USGA Handicap Index of 7.4 or lower, who are 55 or older on or before the day the championship begins. It is one of 14 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
