Woodall leads Dogwood after 2nd round 64
ATLANTA- June 28, 2012-- The second round of the Dogwood Invitational has a new player at the top of the leader board. Bruce Woodall, a graduate of the University of Virginia, shot a 64 today, putting him in the lead. This, paired with his 69 on Wednesday, positions Woodall at 11 under after round two.

MJ Maguire, the leader of round one, shot a four under (68) in the second round, following his first round score of 66, Maguire sits in the second place slot at 10 under.

One shot back of Maguire is Oliver Schniederjans, a sophomore at Georgia Tech, who is in the third place position at seven under.

Shooting six under and tied for fourth place are Michael Kim, a sophomore at the University of California; Michael Morrison, a graduate of the University of Georgia; Riley Pumphrey, a graduate of Oklahoma and Bobby Wyatt, a junior at Alabama. Carlton Forrester, a graduate of Georgia Tech and Ben Kohles, a graduate of the University of Virginia, finished T8 at 139, six off the pace.

After two rounds, nearly a third of the field is under par. On Friday there will be a 54 hole cut for the third round, which will reduce the field to the top 40 and ties

ABOUT THE Dogwood Invitational

Tournament week is June 6-11 at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The entry fee includes breakfast and lunch tournament days as well as special events.

The history of this prestigious event extends back to 1941, when legendary amateur Tommy Barnes captured his first of five Dogwood titles. Evolving with the times, the modern Dogwood has produced fine champions like Webb Simpson (’07), Brian Harman (’09), Dawson Armstrong (’15), and in 2019 Brandon Mancheno. This evolution can be seen also in our course renovations and set-up, our relaxed tournament atmosphere, and our spirit of social responsibility.

Players are required to walk during tournament play and may carry their golf bag themselves (push carts are allowed) or take a caddie. Caddies may be requested in advance during registration, or players may select one on their own.

Player housing is provided on an as available basis to players only, caddies and traveling companions are not provided housing.
