Maryland Seniors win Challenge Matches
WILMINGTON, DE (Oct. 5, 2011) -- The Golf Association of Philadelphia couldn’t retain the Senior Challenge Matches title. The Maryland State Golf Association claimed it Wednesday with a victory at Wilmington CC (South). Its team finished with a 460-total. Team GAP placed third with a score of 476.
The Senior Challenge Matches feature eight seniors from four associations, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Philadelphia, competing in the stroke-play event. Team GAP won last year’s event at Bedens Brook.

Teams of eight players from the Delaware,
Maryland, New Jersey and Philadelphia
Golf
Associations. Eight Senior Players selected
by
the Executive Committee according to
their
playing ability in the present year. The
format
is individual stroke play in foursomes with
the six low scores of eight from each team
comprising the total.
