NAPLES, Fla. (April 20, 2008)--Jacksonville's Bud Cauley held on with a final-round 70 to win the Terra Cotta Invitational by two strokes over reigning U.S. Junior champ Cory Whitsett and David Tobon of Johnson and Wales.

The 18-year-old Cauley, who will join the SEC Champion University of Alabama golf squad next year, finished at 4-under-par 212.

"I think I managed the golf course well,'' Cauley told The Naples News. "I didn't get myself in trouble with the clubs off the tee. I really just kind of played conservative and tried to make birdies with my irons and my putting, not so much hitting drivers.''

Cauley, a three-time AJGA Rolex All-American and member of the 2006 Junior Ryder Cup team, carded birdies on the first two holes of the treacherous back nine, which helped him overcome a bogey on No. 13. He finished things off by parring the final four holes.

Reigning champions Peter Uihlein had to withdraw after breaking his finger training earlier in the week, while 2006 champ Bank Vongvanij now at the University of Florida finished at 232.
