McCall-Meadows win South Carolina Forty-Plus Finale

MURRELLS INLET, SC (December 11, 2017) - Benji McCall and Jason Meadows held onto their first round lead to capture the Tournament Division title at the South Carolina 40 Plus Finale held at TPC Myrtle Beach. McCall and Meadows secured the victory after a one hole playoff with Stan Sill and Josh McMillan. Rich Houghton and Ryan Petz took home the Tournament Division Net title with a two day total of 132.

In the Senior Division, Andy Congdon and Lance Trent took home the Gross Division after a two day total of 136. Pete Clough and Jim Post won the Net Division with a second round of nine under par 63 and two round total of 129.

Greg Schachner and Vince Williams continued their steady play with a second round of two under par 70 to take home the Super Senior Gross championship. Jimmy Banello and Scott Schwarz took the Net title with a second round 64 and two day total of 130.

ROUND ONE RECAP

After the first round of the South Carolina 40 Plus Finale at the TPC Myrtle Beach Club, Benji McCall and Jason Meadows hold a one shot lead over four other teams after an opening round of 68. The McCall and Meadows team also hold a one shot lead in the Net Division.

In the Senior Division, Walter Odiorne and Bernie Shealy have a two shot lead over locals Andy Congdon and Lance Trent after their own four under par 68. Four teams are tied at the top in the Net Division at 66.

Greg Schachner and Vince Williams hold the first place position in the Super Senior Division after an opening round of even par 72. Two other teams are tied at the top in the Net Division.

ABOUT THE South Carolina Forty-Plus Finale

Open to male members of the SCGA who are over the age of 40. Field will be limited to 50 teams – 36 in the Championship Division (ages 40-54) & 14 in the Senior Division. 36-hole four ball stroke play will decide the low championship and net winners.
