COLUMBUS, OH (May 9, 2017) - Florida continues to lead at the Columbus Regional after two rounds but the lead has been trimmed to one. The SEC title winning Gators are 14-over and just one shot in front of second place Ohio State playing on their home course, The Ohio State University Scarlet Course.

The low Gator on Tuesday was Karolina Vlckova who fired a 1-under 71 and she is tied for 22nd at 7-over. Vlckova set the stage for her four birdie, three bogey round early when she carded circles on Nos. 2 and 3.

Overall Florida has been led through the first two days by Kelly Grassel who at 2-over is tied for fourth. The former Michigan State player back in Big 10 country carded a second round even-par 72 and she came on strong late in the day. 2-over after 12-holes, Grassel birdied three-times and bogeyed just once over the course of the final six holes. Her birdies came on Nos. 13, 16 and 18.

Two other members of the Florida lineup are in the top-20; Marta Perez (T12; +4) and Taylor Tomlinson (T18; +6).

Maddie Szeryk of Texas A&M has taken over the lead in the medalist race and she will begin Wednesday's final round as the only player in red figures at 1-under. Szeryk followed up a 1-over 73 in the first round with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday. The round started in fine form for Szeryk as she birdied four of the first seven holes to move to 3-under for the tournament.

As well as Szeryk was playing trouble was lurking and she bogeyed three straight holes from Nos. 10-12 to fall back to even-par before recording her final birdie of the round on the 16th.

Elodie Van Dievoet (Michigan) and Jaclyn Lee (Ohio State) are tied for second at even-par while five others including first round medalist leader Marta Martin Garcia are tied for fourth at 1-over.

From each regional six teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.

Outside of Florida and Ohio State (+15) the top-six currently includes Florida State (+21) in third, South Carolina (+22) in fourth, Michigan (+29) in fifth and Purdue (+31) in sixth.

Five other teams will begin the final round within nine shots of the sixth spot. Those teams include Texas A&M, Arkansas, Colorado, San Jose State and Louisville.
