NCAA DI Women's Golf Champ Field to be Announced Thursday

(April 24, 2017) - The 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships selections announcement will be Thursday, April 27 at 11 a.m. ET, on Golf Channel and streamed live on the Golf Channel website. Seventy-two teams and 24 individuals will be selected to compete at one of four regional championships, each featuring 18 teams and six individuals, May 8-10.

The four regional sites include Scarlet Course/OSU Golf Course, in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by The Ohio State University; The Rawls Course, in Lubbock, Texas, hosted by Texas Tech University; the University of Georgia Golf Course, in Athens, Georgia, hosted by the University of Georgia; and the University of New Mexico Championship Course, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, hosted by the University of New Mexico.

From each of these four regionals, the low six teams and the low three individuals not on those teams (for a total of 24 teams and 12 individuals) advance to the national championships, May 19-24, 2017, hosted by Northern Illinois University at Rich Harvest Farms, in Sugar Grove, Illinois.

This year’s women’s championships will be broadcast for the third consecutive year by Golf Channel with more than 100 news and tournament hours planned again for the men’s and women’s golf championships.

ABOUT THE NCAA Division I Women's Championship

30 teams and 6 individuals not on a qualifying team make up the field for the championship of NCAA Division I women's golf.

After 72 holes of stroke play, the individual champion is crowned, and the low 8 teams advance to match play to determine the team champion.
