Gabi Ruffels leads Australian Women's Riversdale Cup

Only three players turned in under-par rounds on Thursday at Riversdale Golf Club
VICTORIA, Australia (March 9, 2017) -- Gabi Ruffels turned in a 3-under 70 to take the first round lead at the Australian Women's Riversdale Cup. She will carry a one shot advantage into the second round at Riversdale Golf Club over the 2-under Ayaka Furue.
On Thursday Ruffels made her way to the lead with six birdies (three on each side) and three bogeys. The first round birdies for Ruffels came on the 1st, 5th, 7th 14th, 16th and 18th holes.
Furue is in second place and 2-under after an eagle on the par-5 5th and a birdie on the 9th, plus a bogey on the 10th.
Chantelle Cassidy is the final player under-par at 1-under and she is in third place.
Siyi Keh, Caryn Khoo and Dee Russell all sit in an even-par share of fourth place.
