REUNION, FL (February 20, 2017) -- Brooke Seay of Rancho Santa Fe, California, used a hot start and an incredible finish to earn her first Invitational win at Reunion Resort on the second playoff hole. Seay sunk a 30-foot birdie putt to top Sweden’s Amanda Linner on No. 18 on the Watson Course.
The Girls Invitational is hosted by LPGA Legend and World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam and provides girls with an opportunity to experience “More Than Golf” activities including a Welcome Luau, Winning Approach Seminar, and Annika’s Clinic Presented by Rolex.
Seay began her day with three straight birdies and held the lead for most of the day before Linner’s finish to match her 6-under-par 210. Linner finished eagle-birdie to set a new tournament and course record at 8-under-par 64. The girls then entered the playoff, where each parred the first hole before Seay’s long birdie.
