REUNION, FL (September 26, 2016) -- A program tying 16-under second day has moved UCLA to 25-under and the top of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate leaderboard. The Bruins lead second place Arkansas by two-strokes at the Watson Course of the Reunion Resort.

Pacing UCLA is sophomore Lilia Vu who is tied for individual lead at 11-under. Vu followed up her 6-under 66 first round with a bogey-free 5-under 67 in the second round. The 2015 U.S. Women's Open contestant, rolled in birdies on Nos. 6, 10, 13, 16 and 18.

During the second round four of five UCLA players finished under-par and the worst score, and we use that term loosely, was an even-par 72 posted by senior Bronte Law (T16, -4).

UCLA sophomore Bethany Wu also finds herself near the top of the leaderboard as she is tied for seventh at 6-under.

Sharing the medalist lead with Vu is Bailey Tardy of Georgia. The sophomore and All-American from a year ago has reached 11-under thanks to tallies of 67-66. Her second round came and went without a bogey and it included six birdies. Tardy birdied three of the first four holes before carding three birdies from Nos. 13-17.

The medalist leaders will begin the final round three shots ahead of Arizona State's Linnea Strom (-8) in third and a quartet of players at 7-under tied for fourth.

Behind UCLA and Arkansas in the team standings are Georgia (-19) in third and USC (-12); South Carolina (-12) are tied for fourth.

ROUND ONE RECAP

In just their first round of the round of the season South Carolina has already posted two program records. On day one of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate South Carolina fired a program record 14-under 274. The first round score at the Watson Course of the Reunion Resort was good enough for a four-stroke lead over Georgia.

The second record came from Katelyn Dambaugh in the form of her South Carolina individual scoring record 8-under 64. Her mark currently paces both her team and the field. The WGCA First-Team All-American from a year ago overcame a bogey on her first hole, the 10th, before carding eight birdies and an eagle on the par-4 2nd.

Two players are a pair of strokes back; Linnea Strom of Arizona State and Lilia Vu of UCLA are tied for third at 6-under.

Also playing well for the front running Gamecocks are Ainhoa Olarra and Anita Uwadia who are both tied for the eighth at 3-under.

Second place Georgia is 10-under, USC and UCLA are tied for third at 9-under while fifth place Florida is 6-under.
