Judith Kyrinis defends Senior Women’s North & South Amateur

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, NC (August 18, 2016) --Canada’s Judith Kyrinis, who won the 58th Senior Women’s North & South Amateur a year ago, fired a tournament-low 69 on Pinehurst No. 1 to win by 10 shots over Amy Ellertson and Marie-Therese Torti to successfully – and emphatically – defend her championship.
“I’ve had a lot of people over the last year text me and email me when they saw my name in the hallway when they visited Pinehurst,” Kyrinis said. “It really is an honor to have your name up there forever and your picture up for the year. I’m thrilled. I’m thrilled again.”
Pinehurst Country Club member Patty Moore won the Super Senior Women’s North & South by a stroke over Beatriz Arenas, winning a coveted Putter Boy trophy for the sixth time. Moore, who won the Senior Women’s North & South three times, has now won three Super Senior titles.

ABOUT THE North & South Senior Women's
Part of the annual North & South series of
tournaments at Pinehurst that include Men's,
Women's, Juniors and Seniors. Entries are open to
female golfers who meet the requirements below.
All applicants must conform to the USGA Rules of
Amateur Status and meet the requirements of the
USGA Gender Policy.
In the Women's Open Division, applicants must
have reached 50 years of age by start of
tournament to be eligible for competition.
In the Women's Super-Senior Division, applicants
must have reached 60 years of age by start of
tournament to be eligible for competition.
FORMAT: 54-holes of stroke play will determine
the Champion. Play will be divided into four
divisions (Women’s Open, and Women’s Super-
Senior) and contested with one round each on
three different Pinehurst courses. A full field will
consist of 90 total women between both divisions.
