Devon Horne is victorious at Sun Country Match Play

BERNAILLO, NM (July 31, 2016) -- Devon Horne captured the Sun Country Match Play title on Sunday after he defeated Blake Young 4&3 in the championship match at Twin Warriors Golf Club.
Horne, a rising sophomore at Southwestern University (TX), won five matches as the six-seed on his way to the title. The most difficult win of the weekend for Horne came in the Round of 16 when he outlasted 11-seed Jacob Skora 2&1.
The 2016 All-SCAC first-teamer then reached the finals with a 3&2 tally against No. 7 Grant Shorty.
Young, the eight-seed, made his way to the championship match by defeating No. 4 Cale Glover 3&2. Young will be a senior at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs in the fall.
