PLYMOUTH, Mass. (June 4, 2016) -- Brandon Gillis of Nashua, New Hampshire posted 65 on Saturday to capture the title at the Hornblower Memorial Invitational.

Gillis, a Junior at Nashua High School North, opened with a 68 on Friday and trailed Sean Fitzpatrick by 2 strokes. Three players who posted even par 69 in the first round were also among those with good chances to win. They included Mid-Am standout Bobby Leopold, Herbie Aikens (another Mid-Am) and Davis Chatfield.

Chatfield grabbed a share of the lead with a birdie-eagle-birdie run on Hole Nos. 6, 7, and 8. But Gillis hung in with a 1-under front nine, and made his move on the back with and eagle on No. 16 (a par-5) and a bridie on the 18th.

Both Gillis and Chatfield posted the same final round of 65, with Gillis finishing one ahead at 5-under 133 for 36-holes.

Two shots back of Chatfield in third place was Leopold, who posted 67 on Saturday. Aikens and first round leader Fitzpatrick tied for fourth at 1-over 139.
