Steve Norris and Tom Perry win Indiana Senior Team by a stroke
LEBANON, IN (April 28, 2016) - Steve Norris and Tom Perry finished at 8-under and captured the Indiana Senior Team Championship thanks to a final round 5-under 65. Norris and Perry began the day two-strokes behind first round leaders and past champions Dave Vlasic and Cortie Wilson but where able to overtake the duo and win their first team title. Vlasic and Cortie were 7-under and in solo second place.

“Any time winning an Indiana Golf Association event is really special,” Steve Norris told the IGA following the round. “There are great senior players in Indiana, so it is an accomplishment to win in a field of players like this.”

Norris and Perry shot a first round 3-under 67 and began the final day at Ulen Country Club tied for second. For much of the final round they didn't have much going and they where just 1-under through the first 12 holes. However, when they stepped onto tee No. 13 they all of a sudden got hot, red hot. The pair rattled off four straight birdies on holes 13-16 to surge in front.

“We put our approach shots on 13 through 15 to about 10 feet and made birdie from there,” Tom Perry said. “I made a 40-footer on 16 as well, so it felt great to get four in a row.”

The top-five was rounded out by Jim Anthony and Chuck Wenning (-6) in third; Skip Runnels and Terry Werner (-5) in fourth while the teams of Gordie Rees and Craig Scheibert; Tom Jones and Ted Kaperak were 4-under and tied for fifth.
