On the women's side, here are the top-3 Four-Ball tournaments available to females. Find a partner and get an invitation!
As promised, here are the top Four Ball competitions in the United States available to women. Just as this format has become popular with men, it has grown increasingly popular with the females, as well. The recent economic cycle — which has forced many competitive golfers to "pick and choose" the events they play in every year — has only driven home the fact that playing a tournament with a friend is in many ways better than going it alone.
Launching this year, along with the men's version, is the U.S. Women's Four Ball, run by the United States Golf Association. Have you dreamed of playing in a USGA event? This might be your chance.
Here is a look at the three best. Click on the tournament name for more information.
1. U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball
The U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball, the newest USGA championship, will be played for the first time in 2015 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. The event, which has no age restriction, is open to those women with a Handicap Index of 14.4 or lower. It is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
2. Women's Trans Four-Ball
The Women's Trans Four-Ball, held since 1992, will be held in 2015 at the Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga. and in 2016 at Wigwam Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. Though there is a waiting list for the 2015 event, mark your calendars for May 2-5, 2016 and sign up for next year's event.
3. Women's International Four-Ball
Beginning tomorrow, February 16 at the Wanderers Club in Florida, the Women's International Four-Ball boasts an all-star field. For a preview of the 2015 event, please click here.
