FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida (December 13, 2014) - - No sooner had we posted a preview proclaiming Rick Woulfe to be the favorite, he had posted a first round 66 to take the clubhouse lead at the Dixie Senior Amateur. (story coming, preview below)

The first of three Dixie tournaments, the Dixie Senior, teed off this morning at Heron Bay Golf Club. If you're the betting type, you would have to put even money on Rick Woulfe to continue his torrid streak of golf and bring home a win as he did at the Dixie in 2010.

Woulfe, a living legend of Florida amateur golf, won the Society of Seniors Ralph Bogart tournament on Wednesday, is on an amazing run. Prior to that he won the Crane Cup Senior at Floridian in mid- November, and he took home the prestigious Society of Seniors Championship the first week in November.

At Heron Bay, Woulfe faces a solid field that includes the number one and two players in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings, Brady Exber (Las Vegas) and Ron Carter (Indiana). Exber had a hot October, bringing home three big tournament wins and being named the Southern Golf Association Amateur of the Month. Defending champ Doug Hanzel of Savannah is also in the field.
