JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (April 7, 2014) -- Patrick Cover of Huntersville, North Carolina shot a final round 73 to win the 2014 Jimmy Anderson Invitational by a margin of two strokes over Davis Richards of China Grove, NC. Cover started his round with a bogey but quickly rebounded with birdies on three and four, “I knew scores wouldn’t be extremely low today because it was windy, you get off to bad starts sometimes, you just got to keep your head together and stay in the moment, then you can get some shots back on the par fives and easier holes.” Cover finished the weekend with a two day total of 144 which included nine birdies and one eagle.

Defending champion Thomas Walsh of High Point, NC made an early run at a repeat but an unfortunate triple bogey on 17 dropped him into a third place tie with Eric Bae of Cary, NC and James Mishoe of Cary, NC. Bae was the winner of the 13-15 year old age division with a score of 147 beating out Wes Simmons of Goldsboro, NC by four strokes. Simmons made every attempt to catch Bae including his first career hole-in-one on the par 3 fourth hole, using his 4 iron to two hop his tee shot from 190 yards away.
