Sacramento Senior: Knoll, Olds take titles
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 10, 2013) -- Jim Knoll fired rounds of 71-66 to finish atop the leaderboard at the 2013 Sacramento City Senior Championship by two shots.

Knoll topped Mark Miller, who opened play with a 69 in Round 1 but shot 70 in the finale to take second place at Bing Maloney Golf Course.

Terry Foreman was third at 69-72--141.

Mike Reuther shot 68 to take the first-round lead before shooting 75 in Round 2 to finish tied for fourth place alongisde Dave Baskin and Doug Johnson.

Bob Olds prevailed over Rob Thompson in a playoff to win the Super Senior Division.

Both players finished the 36-holes of regulation at 146 before Olds prevailed on the second playoff hole.

ABOUT THE Sacramento City Senior

The 56th Sacramento City Senior and 15th Sacramento City Super Senior Men's Championships will be contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16-17, 2024. The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers ages 55 to 64 (Senior Division) with a GHIN of 9.4 or less and ages 65 and older (Super Senior Division) with a GHIN of 11.4 or less. The Super Senior division will also include a Legends flight for ages 75 and above.

The entry fee is $190 per player and includes two days green fees, range balls and awards - power carts are not included.

The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke play – 18 holes each day. Play will be in threesomes with 9-minute intervals. The Senior division will be for ages 55 to 64 and the Super Senior division will be for ages 65 and over with a Legends flight for ages 75 and over. A tie for champions in both divisions will be decided in a sudden-death playoff starting on the 17th hole. All other ties will be divided evenly by the sum of the combined places. The lowest 36-hole gross scores in the respective flights will be declared the 2024 City Senior and Super Senior Men’s Champions. The names will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy.

The entry deadline is July 8, 2024 and there will be NO refunds after this date. There will be a $10 administrative fee for any withdrawal prior to the entry deadline.
