Callaway Unveils monthly Tour Limited wedges
Comic-Con attendees: these are you. Callaway Tour Limited November set
CARLSBAD, Calif. (November 1, 2016) -- Just a week
after announcing the new "
Callaway Customs"
wedge program, Callaway Golf has unveiled yet
another way to put a unique short game tool into
your bag. The latest program is an add on to that
program called "Tour Limited," which
provides what some might consider the holy grail of
custom wedge design.
Each month, Callaway will offer a limited
number of unique wedges, all designed by Roger
Cleveland and stamped, paint-filled and sand-blasted
by Anthony Taranto, the Carlsbad based wedge
expert who does the popular wedge stampings for
Callaway Tour players. If you've seen it on
Instagram or anywhere else in social media, it was
probably done by Anthony.
Unique to this program is an auction format that
ensures that the winning bidder gets something truly
original. In September, Callaway tested this Tour
Limited blind auction format with three wedges
inspired by the Ryder Cup (the final sale price was
$1,010). Admittedly, these prices aren't for the
person used to shopping on eBay and hoping to
pickup someone's throwaway wedge for $25. And
while many will be happy to put Tour Limited wedges
in play, there are likely to be many collectors who
pick them up for display in a club rack at home or
work.
For November, Callaway is running a colorful
Comic Book theme; you can find more details on this
Tour Limited offering on a new Callawaygolf.com
page.
With this limited edition format, some wedges will
be sold individually and some will be sold as a set.
Price will vary depending on the design, features,
and components. This month's designs will be sold as
a set, and you can learn more about it on this instruction page.
