The Merit Club, site of the Merit Amateur, is an
exclusive private golf club in Gurnee, Illinois. In
1998, GolfWeek ranked the Merit Club as one of the
top 100 modern courses in the United States. The
Merit Club is an 18 hole, par 72 course. It also has a
three-hole practice area and teaching facility. The
Merit Club, which opened in 1992, hosted the 2000
U.S. Women’s Open
Championship.
