In addition to making bogeys, birdies and pars Michael is an Emmy nominated rock and roll singer / guitarist with original songs streaming around the world on country, blues, rock and Americana radio. Rolling Stone's Ben Fong-Torres described Michael as "a walking, talking, singing, picking, shredding embodiment of Americana music".

In 2013 Michael was selected as a voting member for the Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy.

Michael's recent solo album DRIVE is an all-original collection of blues, modern country, rock and Americana. The title track (DRIVE) aired on radio stations in 26 countries and available for play in the RockBand gaming space. Fans of Michael's music can enjoy a special DRIVE music video on You Tube directed by Tommy Merry and filmed near Half Moon Bay, California where Michael calls home.
