PASADENA, Calif. — Torrey Pines High School
took home
the CIF/SCGA Southern California High School
Championship title on Thursday, totaling just
two-over for
five players at Brookside Golf Club's Course
No. 1.
The Falcons were led by Jamie Cheatham's
two-under par
70, while the rest of the counted scores were
one-over
73s.
Cheatham, a senior, has committed to play
next fall for
Cal while fellow senior Toby Song will join the
UNC Tar
Heels for his freshman year. Cheatham's
score was good
enough for a tie for third in the individual
ranks.
Coming in second place was Loyola High
School of Los
Angeles at eight-over 368. Junior Brandon
Bueno led the
Cubs with 70 while Owen Calvin-Smith also
shot under-
par, posting 71.
